Tat-o-rama

Gone are the days of flogging cars via dog-eared Post-Its and the murky back pages of Auto Trader - finding a cut-price motor in horrendous condition has never been easier thanks to Mr Berners-Lee. Here's some of the tattiest finds currently in the classifieds.

2001 Hyundai Coupé - €600

Yes, it's ugly, but at least it's broken, too. With only 54,000 miles on the clock, this frog-eyed Coupé's hardly run-in, but with €600, a trailer and a half-decent mechanic, you can give it the good ragging it truly deserves. Happy hunting.

1989 Ford Granada - €900

Even the vague existential dread that comes from browsing Facebook Marketplace can't blunt this Granada (or is it Granda?)'s charm.

At a glance, it seems the Irish weather's done a number on the big Ford's bodywork - with the arches, bonnet and door sills all looking decidedly crusty.

Still, a big-blocked, blue-ovalled barge for €900? Get your wellies on. Actually, don't.

How's something roadworthy for a change? €3,950 can net you a fetching '91-plate Kadett, with a sparkling engine bay, radio cassette and 61,000 miles on the clock.

Cars this clean don't stick around too long - but cars as expensive as this one do. Time to sit tight and watch the price whittle itself down.

Pile of Rover P6 parts

The 'ambiguous pile of car parts' is one of my favourite genres of online small ad, and this week's heap all comes from Rover's suave and sleek Sixties saloon, the P6.

There's much for the pre-Leyland Rover fan to dig through - headlights, badges and instruments among them. Bumpers, steering wheels and seat covers are also on offer, yet sadly out of shot.

That's all I've found lately. Happy browsing, browsers.
